If you've never been to the Downtown Aquarium Denver CO, you are in for a treat. There are dozens of species of sea life to discover and enjoy. Learn about local species and those around the world, and get up-close and personal with sharks, sea turtles, and rays. There are even behind-the-scenes tours available. And with many more programs planned, you can easily find something to keep you entertained throughout your trip. It is located at 700 Water St, Denver, CO 80211.

The hotel's location is also convenient for visiting downtown attractions like the Colorado Convention Center and Elitch Gardens Theme Park. Guests of the Downtown Aquarium can easily walk to the nearby Sixteenth Street Mall and Union Station, two great places for shopping. There's also the Downtown Zoo and Elitch Gardens, two of Denver's top attractions. And, if you're looking for a fun way to spend an evening, why not catch a show of live mermaids? The show takes place monthly and is sure to keep you entertained for hours.

There's more to explore than the animals themselves. The Denver Zoo houses twenty-four species of primates, including black howler monkeys in Primate Panorama. The 1908 Monkey House features a sad sack troop of monkeys, but the Denver Zoo has more hooded capuchins, beating San Diego's 1908 Monkey House for primate diversity. Moreover, Denver has more primate species than any other zoo in the country, so if you're interested in primates, this is the place for you.

For more exciting underwater adventures, take the time to visit the Denver Aquarium. There are various interactive programs to choose from for the entire family, including a dive shop. Guests must be at least 12 years old, but children should be accompanied by an adult. In addition, all participants must sign a liability waiver and guidelines for animal interaction. A parent or court-appointed legal guardian must sign a form if they're under 18 years of age. Besides, there's a video of the dive if you want to watch it later.

There are also tours that allow visitors to get up close to the animals. The Denver Zoo features five main yards with a total space of approximately two acres, with four pools. Hundreds of thousands of gallons of water provide an excellent environment for close encounters. The long, narrow habitats are reminiscent of a 4.5-acre paddock at the Kansas City Zoo. The Denver Zoo's all-bull herd is expected to occupy one of these habitats in the near future.

The Denver Zoo recently opened a $50 million Toyota Elephant Passage, which is geared toward increasing the attraction's popularity. However, with the growing number of theme parks and free zoos in the area, the Denver Zoo is far behind the other two. In fact, the San Diego Zoo and Columbus, Ohio, Zoos are both surpassed by the Denver Zoo in attendance in 2012! And the San Diego Zoo has even more attractions than the Denver Zoo!
